Decision Bottleneck Review

Bring one area where decisions, approvals, or exceptions keep returning to you. We will help identify why that dependency exists and what is worth changing first.

Designed for

A functioning team that still routes exceptions to the leader.

  • Managers are capable but hesitate when judgment is required
  • The same issue escalates even after a process was agreed
  • You want to delegate more but do not know which boundary is safe
  • You can choose one workflow or business area to examine

Not designed for

You need a company-wide answer or validation of a conclusion already made.

  • A company-wide diagnosis or transformation
  • A full restructuring or operating-model redesign
  • Leadership coaching or generic delegation training
  • A promise that one session will solve every cause

What happens

One problem. One decision flow. One responsible next move.

We do not begin by assuming the team is weak or that the leader should disappear from every decision. We start with what happens and allow the evidence to change the explanation.

  1. 01

    Short pre-work

Describe one recurring decision, approval, exception, or area of work, plus what you have already tried.

  2. 02

    Focused 75-minute session

Map the real decision and escalation flow, separating observable facts from explanations that still need testing.

  3. 03

    Locate the dependency

Examine where authority, responsibility, information, exception rules, or workflow may be pulling decisions back to the leader.

  4. 04

    Choose practical tests

Identify two or three bounded changes whose risk is proportionate to the evidence available.

  5. 05

    Receive the action note

Within three working days, receive the map, observations, hypotheses, tests, and what this review cannot yet establish.

What you receive

A concise note you can use to decide and test.

Not a long report made to look complete—only what this problem requires.

01

A map of the current decision or escalation flow

02

The most plausible sources of leader dependency

03

Two or three practical changes worth testing

04

A concise written action note

05

A short follow-up when clarification is useful

Commercial contract

Know what you are buying, what is required, and where the work stops.

This engagement stands alone. Later work is neither opened nor sold automatically.

01

Inputs required

  • A 1–3 paragraph description
  • What you have already tried
  • One to three examples of the recurring decision or exception
  • Up to three relevant artifacts, if available
02

Duration

Short pre-work + a focused 75-minute session + action note within 3 working days

A short follow-up is included only when the note needs clarification.

03

Price

USD 450 fixed fee

Founding Client / Pilot Price. The price may change after the pilot; the agreed fee for a confirmed engagement will not.

04

Stopping point

Stop when you can see the current flow, the dependency worth examining, and two or three changes worth testing—plus what the review cannot conclude.

If the problem is wider than one bottleneck

The result may be to stop, self-handle, refer, or investigate more deeply.

System Diagnostic, System Architecture, or Implementation Stewardship begins only when new evidence and a new decision justify it. This review is not a deposit on a larger engagement.
